Shigmotsav

Shigmo festival in Goa is a colour festival celebrated  in the month of Falgun .Processions are carried out at temples by throwing 'Gulal' and dancing with God and Goddess umbrellas and 'Dindis'.This festival celebration is organized in different cities to attract tourists.Carried out with traditional Goan dances and modren floats.Its celebration begin with the holi,the festival of colours celebrated across the country.Shigmo parade consist of traditional folk and street dancers.It is the biggest festival for Hindus and is spread over a midnight.
It is beautifully taken out in the state capital Panaji and other places like Ponda,Vasco,Madgoan, and Mapusa.It is starting with prayers to the village God and Goddesses.The last five days of the fortnight is when the parades are held.It can be termed between Holi and Carnival.
